The following information has been provided by the British Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Division. The BVI is a Rabies free territory and in order to protect against the spread of this disease, the following regulations are strictly adhered to and enforced.
Please note that there are two sets of regulations regarding the importation of pets to the BVI. The first deals with pets from countries which are known to have outbreaks of Rabies, such as mainland USA & Canada. Application to Import Animals into the Territory of the British Virgin Islands

This form must be submitted by anyone seeking to import a live animal into the Territory. It must be submitted prior to the animal's arrival in the Territory. This form provides detailed information about conditions that must be met before a dog or cat from a rabies non-endemic country (a country where rabies is not present) may be imported into the Territory. Presently, rabies non-endemic countries include: Antigua, Australia, Barbados, Dominica, Jamaica, Montserrat, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, St. Kitts, Anguilla, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the United Kingdom.
